You are probably aware that Massachusetts is changing the way rates are determined for auto insurance. In the past, rates were set by the state and all companies used the same rates. That system will be changing in April 2008 when managed competition will be introduced in Massachusetts.

If your auto policy renews before April 1, 2008 your policy will not be affected by this change until 2009.

Managed competition is intended to allow you, the consumer, to shop for both the price and products that meet your specific needs.

You will now have more choices for your auto insurance. In order to select what is best for you, you will need to understand all the new discounts and optional coverages . We represent seven of the top auto carriers in Massachusetts. This gives you the ability to shop seven companies with one phone call to us. Price is an important factor. However, you also need the assurance that you are being cared for by someone who knows you personally and knows your insurance needs. What to expect from us during this transition.

1. Using the underwriting information we currently have on file, when your April or later renewal is received here we will review it to make sure that you have the maximum discount for which you are eligible. If we find something during this review that we feel will be of benefit to you, we will mail you a personal note asking you to contact us to discuss your individual situation.
2. With every renewal we will be sending a questionnaire listing what discounts and optional coverage are available. When you send this back we will review your policy to make sure you are getting the all the discounts you are entitled to and have all the optional coverage you need.
3. We will always be available to talk. We encourage you to call your CSR to discuss these changes and ask for a quote from all or our companies. We have the ability to quote seven companies with one phone call. If you do not know the name of your CSR, please visit our website for a complete employee listing or call our office.

1. Please phone or visit our office if you have questions. We know there is a lot of information and misinformation in the marketplace about managed competition. You will be hearing a lot more over the next few months. We believe that managed competition is an opportunity for consumers. We are here to help you take advantage of these opportunities.
